Also comes with it's standard 3-Speed Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission. The car features: Original Crimson paint with white stripes and red vinyl interior and Magnaflow dual exhaust. Restored less than ten years ago, it presents very fresh. It's Paint is deep and clean and retaining its brilliant shine and smooth lines. The interior hardly seems to have been sat in. The carpet is clean with no stains or ware as are the door panels and seats. The dashes instrument trim has a few minor edges where paint is slightly worn off here and there but overall presents very nice, bright and smooth. The dash pad is clean and has no cracks or warping. Installed Redline Radial tires, nice chrome, like new convertible top, red convertible top boot, trunk mat and interior matching 442 floor mats. 19,829 miles showing on it's restoration.................................. Introduced in 1964 to counter Pontiac’s popular GTO, the Oldsmobile 442 was an instant hit, but Olds engineers were not finished. In 1965, they bumped displacement to 400 CI, with a commensurate increase to 345 HP. Then in 1966, they issued Oldsmobile’s first Tri-Power carburetion package since the early 1950s, topping it off with the W-30 forced-induction system. The W-30 442 was visually distinguished by a pair of scoops mounted below the front bumper that fed fresh air through flexible hoses to a special chrome-topped air cleaner, not to mention its red, plastic front-fender liners which provided extra visual pop. GM outlawed the Tri-Power setup for 1967, but by then the W-30 package was fixed as the most potent addition to the 442, delivering 360 HP and 440 lb-ft of torque. The 1969 Olds 442 was very similar to the 1968 except the division tooth between the grilles, the trunk lid inlets for the taillights, wing windows deleted on Holiday Coupes and convertibles, steering lock ignition switch on the steering column, standard headrests were added to the front seats, and the paint scheme. Twin hood stripes were now available to highlight the new dual-bulged hood. Another hi-po engine was offered, the W-32. It came with the Forced Air Induction plumbing found on the W-30s, but it had a milder cam like the base engine. It was only available with an automatic. 297 were built. The Hurst/Olds returned with a Cameo White and Fire Frost Gold striped paint scheme, functional ram air hood scoops, rear spoiler, and the best part, a 380 hp 455ci V8. 906 production Hurst/Olds Holiday Coupes were built, plus 6 prototypes and 2 convertibles for a total of 914 cars. It comes with power steering and brakes, factory tach on the console, tinted glass, full length console, and immaculate olds rally wheels with firestone f7014 red line tires. Having come from sunny arizona the underside of this fine 442 is clean and solid all the body panels are the same. We have an extensive parts list from lifters, to gaskets, to rocker arms, camshaft, push rods, and much much more. We rebuilt the motor because there was a noise in it we didn't like so we removed the heads tore them down had them reworked and installed all new valve train parts. We disassembled the block and found some camshaft and lifter wear. We installed a new 45 degree cam recommended by mondellos with lifter kit and stock push rods. We did not find any shavings in the oil and the block was very clean. This is just a snapshot of what has been done to this great 442. It has loads of power and torque which the olds 400 is known for. There is no sign of wear in the motor and all the fluids are fresh and clean. A number of different engines were offered for the car, but not one of them displaced 442cu-in. The name refers to the 4-barrel carburetor, 4-speed transmission and 2 exhaust pipes, which is why the name is often written as 4-4-2 in oldsmobile literature. The 442 was a performance package offered for the cutlass starting in 1964.
