Solid from top to bottom. This particular car was displayed in a museum for several years before beingtreated to a mechanical refresh. Under the hood is a 255 CI Mercury flatheadV8, combined with a Merc-O-Matic automatic transmission. Onthe outside are front driving lights, classic full size wheel covers, ad widewhitewall tires. Lakewood Green Paint with a Green Top. Boot green leatherinterior and white inserts, Aircraft-style lever controls for theheater/defroster and ventilation controls. 110 MPH speedometer, temperature,fuel, oil, and battery gages all located in the dash. The new model Montereywas part of Ford's company-wide redesign project. The Monterey became its ownmodel in 1952, one year after its initial introduction. It was produced with ataller and more squared shape than the 1949-51 Ford and Mercury models. Thiswas the most expensive Monterey available in 1952, priced at $2,370. TheMonterey’s tasteful styling features a full width front grille, quarter panelbright trim, and imitation front and body side intake grilles.
