1952 Mercury Monterey Presenting an original ’52 Monterey. This was the first year the Monterey was offered as a convertible. The sheetmetal, floors and frame are all in great condition. Solid from top to bottom. This particular car was displayed in a museum for several years before beingtreated to a mechanical refresh. Under the hood is a 255 CI Mercury flatheadV8, combined with a Merc-O-Matic automatic transmission. This car has a in-dash clock and push button radio,chrome windshield frame and beltline trim, and both front and rear guards. Onthe outside are front driving lights, classic full size wheel covers, ad widewhitewall tires. Lakewood Green Paint with a Green Top. Boot green leatherinterior and white inserts, Aircraft-style lever controls for theheater/defroster and ventilation controls. 110 MPH speedometer, temperature,fuel, oil, and battery gages all located in the dash. The new model Montereywas part of Ford's company-wide redesign project. The Monterey became its ownmodel in 1952, one year after its initial introduction. It was produced with ataller and more squared shape than the 1949-51 Ford and Mercury models. Thiswas the most expensive Monterey available in 1952, priced at $2,370. TheMonterey’s tasteful styling features a full width front grille, quarter panelbright trim, and imitation front and body side intake grilles.
